TCS Takes Tire Sales ‘on-the-go’ with its Mobile Tire Search and Catalog

15th May 2012 by bswenson

mobile-tireresultsTCS Technologies, regarded as a leading software and web applications provider for the tire and automotive industry, has launched several new features to its already implemented mobile tire dealer websites.  The highlight of this launch is a mobile tire and wheel search by vehicle, size or brand feature.  The new mobile tire search platform allows on-the-go consumers to research and shop tires and wheels in a mobile friendly platform offering accessibility to a dealer’s products and information in real-time from their website.

“The launch of our new mobile tire search and catalog is a huge success for TCS, tire dealers and buyers everywhere,” states Marek Cerny, TCS Director of Retail Web Applications “One of the top three reasons consumers come to a tire dealer website is to research tires and wheels.  If they are coming from a mobile device, it is a necessity to provide the information they are looking for in a mobile friendly way.  The ability to locate dealer inventory, browse available tires and wheels and see a price or request a quote from a mobile device is invaluable.  A comprehensive catalog displaying a dealer’s product availability that fits in your pocket can save time and ultimately shape the success of your product. ”

The announcement includes a family of features aimed to radically accelerate connecting the consumer to the dealer in a mobile friendly environment.  New mobile features available with TCS tire dealer websites include:

·         Search for tires by vehicle, size or brand
·         Tire results pages pull data live from the dealer’s website and highlight tire specs, features and benefits of the tire, a picture of the tire, pricing if the dealer chooses or a Request a Quote option which sends the dealer an email including consumer contact information, vehicle and the specific tire in which the consumer is requesting more information
·         Search for a Dealer’s Location by  entering an address or zip code or allowing the site to access to the user’s GPS location
·         Live coupon and promotions feed from the website

“We know our consumers are using mobile devices to both research our products and services and connect with us.  We receive around 25% of our website traffic from visitors on a mobile device however only 6% of our leads come from mobile.  With the addition of our mobile tire search and catalog, we anticipate a considerable increase in the amount of leads we are receiving from our website – particularly from our mobile visitors,”   stated Kevin McGee, McGee Tire District Manager.   “It is important to us to provide the best resources for our consumers to access McGee Tire, our products and services.  We compete against several national chains and our mobile site now gives a mobile tire shopping experience superior to my competition.”
This launch is a second phase of mobile releases TCS has unveiled. “We will continue to invest in the development of our mobile products and services to create progressive solutions that connect consumer to retailer; ultimately selling more products and services.  Now more than ever, technology plays a vital role in a dealer’s success.  Our customers have solutions that not only connect consumers with the retailer but connect them in ways that stick,” remarked Kenny Pratt, Vice-President of Technology for TCS.  To access one of the TCS mobile optimized sites, visit www.mcgeetire.com from a smartphone or tablet.  Interested dealers should contact TCS at their website www.tcstire.com or 888-449-8473.

TCS Technologies Launches Facebook Tire Shopping App

11th May 2012 by bswenson

facebook tire shopping appAs a part of TCS Technologies’ continued dedication to engaging consumers with tire dealers, today the company unveiled a new tire and wheel searching capability allowing consumers to get a quote or even buy a tire or wheel from the dealer’s Facebook Page. With more than 1000 customers across the US and Canada, TCS is the first technology company offering this capability.

This new Facebook tire and wheel searching capacity is the latest step in allowing consumers to search and get product quotes wherever they are on the web. The Facebook tire search platform, built in tandem with tire, wheel and service websites provided by TCS, delivers a dealers inventory to Facebook’s more than 800 million active users.

The app allows a dealer to specify what tire and wheel products are displayed when a user searches by vehicle, size or brand. The tire and wheel results are displayed with a photo of the product, specifications, features and benefits and even price if the dealer so chooses. Pricing can be pulled real-time from the dealer’s software or even display pricing and quantity from multi distributor channels. Dealers who choose not to display pricing can have the option to include a ‘Request a Quote’ button next to each product. These dealers receive an email containing consumer contact information and which product they would like a quote on.

One of the most powerful features within the app is each product has a ‘like’ or ‘share’ button. When the Facebook user finds the product they are interested in or a price they find desirable, they can do what Facebook users do best – make that product become viral by sharing it with their networks. Not only does this empower the dealer to become viral, but it also gives the dealer’s web presence a boost with the search engines. Recently Bing announced they are turning up the volume on the social influence in search, by letting the Facebook “Like” influence search results. Google has already utilized the Facebook “Like” to influence their results along with the new Google+ Plus buttons website visitors are seeing across the web. Both of these major search engines track and monitor these respective social factors to help websites gain a higher trust rating and authority in search engine results. This shows how influential a social presence can be, and why businesses who have not yet opted into the world of social media, should re-consider their initial decision.

“Now more than ever, TCS customers are integrating social media into their marketing portfolios. It is imperative we answer the call from tire and wheel consumers to make it easy to research a dealer’s products, get a quote, price or buying experience on those products and also share products through their preferred channels. Many of our dealers are very active on Facebook and do a nice job of creating social interaction in their communities; however they lack a way to tangibly measure the effectiveness on converting social interaction into buyers via Facebook. This tire and wheel catalog app is step one for our customers.” remarked Kenny Pratt, TCS Vice President of Technology. “We also see it vital for dealers to be able to expose their products and services wherever they choose, not just their website. We already have dealers who want to place this app on Facebook pages outside of their own Facebook page. This will really open up lots of partner marketing for our dealers to sell tires through channels not available to them before.”

Florida based McGee Auto Service and Tire was one of two beta testers for the Facebook app. The 28 location dealer has been very active on Facebook, growing and interacting with their local Facebook community which is over 7,000 fans currently. “We display our inventory on our website and receive an increasing number of quote requests on tires each day. In collaboration with TCS, moving this success to our already active Facebook site was a natural thing. So far we have seen around one quote request coming from Facebook for every 5 we receive from our website, http://www.mcgeetire.com,” stated Kevin McGee, McGee Tire District Manager. “Besides our brand and products becoming even more viral within Facebook, we have seen our traffic from Facebook to our website increase. TCS actually created a micro website within Facebook which points users to http://www.McGeeTire.com specific pages. We really got the best of both worlds with this new app: better Facebook conversions as well as more traffic to our website.”

Online retailer SimpleTire.com was also a beta tester for the app. SimpleTire.com launched the Tire Finder Facebook App in early April and has already seen a 20% conversion rate from visitors using the Facebook application and buying their tires online. When comparing this conversion rate with that of the average ecommerce web store, the positive difference is astounding. An average conversion rate online is usually between 2-4%, so seeing a 16-18% lift on that is a tremendous success for SimpleTire.com. “Being the only tire ecommerce site out there with the ability to search and sell tires via Facebook has definitely opened a lot of doors for Simple Tire,” said Andy Chalofsky, Simple Tire owner. “While we are excited about the new buying experience we are providing consumers, we are equally excited about the Simple Tire brand exposure this has created in the social networks as well as the doors this application has opened for additional marketing opportunities.”

“There is no other place where 800 Million people interact almost daily. It is a sales barrier to have to leave Facebook to purchase when the moment arrives in which the consumer wants to purchase from a tire and service dealer. If a dealer has a fan base and interacts with consumers on Facebook, it’s a natural progression of the Facebook experience to offer your products and services within Facebook. Other industries have been successful with this model for months now, and we are pleased to bring this extension to the tire industry,” remarked Mr. Pratt of TCS.

A pioneer among tire technology providers to embrace web applications, TCS has been providing solutions since 1993. The company continues to invest in avenues like social media to gather feedback from consumers, promote dealer brand awareness and promotions. TCS says this is the first of many ‘first to industry’ products it will launch in the coming months. Interested dealers can visit the company’s website at http://www.tcstire.com or call 888-449-8473.

Boyd’s Tire and Service utilizes Coupon Sites to bring in New Customers

19th March 2012 by bswenson

Boydstire.com a client of  TCS (Tire Company Solutions) uses it’s website to promote their, Groupon, Playpon, and checkups service to bring in new customers to their stores. Recently moderntiredealer.com featured an article showing how Boyd’s went about this online marketing campaign.

Boyd’s Tire & Service Center, a seven-store chain located in Columbus, Ohio, the change in seasons is a chance to bring in additional business.

“We promote spring car care packages that include an oil change, a maintenance inspection, fluid top-off, tire rotation and a brake inspection,” says Jon Boyd, tire business and customer service manager. “We piggyback on the changing seasons and do spring and winter car care packages. Getting maintenance when the seasons change means something to our customers.”

Boyd says that winter car care packages are important because consumers need to ensure their vehicle’s coolant can sustain the cold. It’s also crucial to ensure the tires aren’t’ worn out so they can handle snowy conditions.

“Spring car care packages are a little different,” he explains. “It’s probably a little less about safety and more about, ‘How did your car make it through the winter months?’”

Boyd’s offers spring maintenance discount coupons on its website, www.BoydsTire.com. The company also does print advertising in Valpak and the Town Money Saver, as well as radio spots. TV exposure is also very helpful.

“We have really good relationships with Channel 6 and with Channel 10 here in Columbus,” Boyd explains. “They come to us whenever they have an automotive issue that they want to talk about. We’ve been on their local news plenty of times answering questions for them. We also fix all of their vehicles.”

High-tech mobility

Recently, Boyd’s has been embracing the latest technology to promote maintenance. Last year the company had a new website designed with a “Sign up and save” function.

“The person puts their e-mail address in, it gets saved in a database and whenever we have any specials or functions we send out an e-mail blast,” says Boyd. “We’ll be doing one for our spring car care package.”

In February 2012, Boyd’s went super high-tech and launched a new mobile website for smartphones. Designed by Tire Company Solutions (TCS) Technologies, a software and technology provider for the tire, auto and retread industry, Boyd’s is TCS’ first mobile website customer. Now, anyone with a smartphone can access spring maintenance deals from Boyd’s Tire.

Groupon and Playpon

Another way Boyd promotes seasonal maintenance is through Groupon promotions. The company did one in December 2011 for winter car care packages. Groupon (www.Groupon.com) is a deal-of-the-day website that features discounted gift certificates usable at local or national companies.

“The Groupon went fantastic,” says Boyd. “We sold 177 $39.95 winter car care packages. Groupon collects all the money and then the people come in and redeem the Groupon in our stores.”

Boyd says the promotion generated a lot of service revenue in addition to the $39.95 from each Groupon sale. It also brought in many new customers.

“That’s what we wanted — to have as many people find us as possible,” he says.

Now Boyd’s Tire is about to do a “Playpon” for a spring car care packages.

“It’s a lot like Groupon, but they donate a portion of your sales to whatever local school you choose,” he says. “That’s a catchy way of trying to give back some of the revenue and then make everyone look good in the deal. Plus, we want to help schools out anyway.”

Boyd says Playpon is an excellent way to promote the businesses on a local community level. Playpon dedicates 15% of every sale to local schools and local non-profits. The schools win, Boyd’s Tire shops win, and most importantly, the consumer wins.

“Being involved in the local schools follows our philosophy of being involved in our communities,” Boyd explains. “Each store manager is well aware that if there is any need or request for any support for schools, local charities or if the football team needs sponsorship, we do it as much as we possibly can. People in our communities know it, and we get recognition.”

Boyd says he’s now looking into conducting free car care clinics to promote seasonal maintenance. “It fits into our philosophy of community involvement because it’s for the community, it’s free and it brings in business for us.”

TCS SIGNS UP 12 NEW DEALERS FOR TC-TREAD TRACK RETREADING SOFTWARE, INTEGRATES WITH OTHER POS SYSTEMS

1st March 2012 by Jessica

(Cookeville, TN, March 1, 2012)  -  TCS Technologies, software and web applications provider for the tire, automotive, and retread industry announces 12 retreading facilities have signed up for its TC-Tread Track retreading software package, among them are the entire AcuTread Alliance Group including Sumerel Tire Service, Wonderland Tire, Central Tire, Day & Night Tire, and Waco Tire.  Other dealers committed include, Quality Tire and Jewell Tire Retreading.  Due to the number of dealers who want to fast track the switch to TCS, and the complexity of a software system changeover, TCS also announces it has built TC-Tread Track to be able to integrate with other POS systems.  This is a huge benefit to those retreaders who need to change retreading software quickly without forcing them to move other parts of their business systems.  The rapid development of this next generation product and the team TCS has assembled to implement the system into current operations has captured the interest of the industry.  Among the items sparking the most interest are new fleet management features and mobile benefits not available to retreaders who work with older technology.

Gary Ingber, original developer of the industry-leading Open Road Technologies (ORT) retread software and current lead consultant of the TC-Tread Track package, stated, “If you want a fresh and current complete system to manage your process with unbelievable power and flexibility, then you need to get on board with this package.  This is not some 1980’s technology resurrected in the hopes of taking advantage of the changes occurring in the retreading industry.  TC-Tread Track will be the benchmark for the next 30 years all others will be compared to.”

“The thing I like about TCS and TC-Tread Track is their ability to work with other legacy systems in order to simplify the implementation process,“ says Tim Loden, owner of Advantage ID and original partner in ORT.  “When you see their complete package, believe me, you will want the whole thing.  But to allow tire dealers to implement in steps is huge, and this really shows how TCS is looking out for the dealer’s best interest.”

Bob Majewski, President of the AcuTread Alliance Group said, “I am energized about TC-Tread Track and what it will do for our business, and the industry as a whole.  It will be great for independent retreaders to finally have reports they can take to the fleets that really show usable information that makes a difference. “

For more information about TCS and its TC-Tread Track Retreading Software, dealers should contact TCS at 888-449-8473 or email sales@tcstire.com.
